HSS mixed high-speed steel

High Speed Steel (HSS) is very hard due to its alloy and has a high heat resistance. But it is definitely not a hard metal. The hardness and heat resistance is achieved by the alloy of 2.06% carbon and 30% tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, chromium or cobalt. It is suitable for the manufacture of tools for machining softer metals such as aluminium and copper.

Among other things, turning tools, taps, drills, milling cutters and also cutting or punching tools are manufactured from HSS.
